Homebrew AM transmitter ?
I recieved a homebrew AM transmitter from a SK's family and was wondering if this can be driven with a modern transceiver. It is running a pair of 572A's.
I do have some pics of it if it would help.
Thanks, KD0OFJ

A Transmitter is a standalone item, use of a transceiver to "drive" a transmitter does not make sense.
Perhaps you are thinking that you have a linear amplifier?
At any rate, a picture may be in order, plus full description of any nomenclature, controls, etc. that you may have could help identify what it is that you have there.

That final tank circuit looks strangely 11 Meterish!

well maybe ten meters but it's push-pull highly unusual for a chickenband amplifier.

I wouldn't think there is anything 11 meter about it. His family let me take his log books to look at and he was a ham That you wouldn't belive. His call was W0OVQ

To me it looks like a ten meter transmitter.
Where is the modulator?
This was most likely driven with a VFO maybe even a Misner signal shifter, which would have enough power out to drive this directly.

I can just imagine how HEAVY that is!!! GOTTA FORKLIFT? Looks well built though. Don't see any provision for 80-15 on it, so it looks to be single band in the 24-30 Mhz range. OK, maybe it will work on 12 meters too! Incredible amount of work into that for what is essentially a SB-200.

The modulator coil is in the box to the right of th tubes. I have the coils for 160 thru 10. It is link coupled and you chang coils for each band.
