  1. Default Rohn 25g or similar tower sections around western Ontario, Canada?

Does anyone know where I can source some surplus/used (but in good condition) Rohn 25g, or similar, tower sections in western Ontario, Canada? Maybe between Kenora and Fort Francis?

I'd like 3-4 sections. I would take it up with me but I'd rather avoid the hassle getting it through customs - therefore I'd like to find something already in Canada.

Rohn is not a well known brand up here. The long-time brand is Delhi, out of Brantford, Ontario. They have been the standard for decades, both for the 2-way commercial radio market and for hams.

You might try Ebay or Kijijii. You also might want to check in to the Ontario Swap Net, Sundays 12 noon on 7.055 and Sundays 7 pm on 3.755

There are a number of websites but you might try here first: http://www.ontarioswapshop.com/

Depending on where you are coming into Canada you might investigate around Winnipeg, Manitoba if you are that far west. You are heading into more open country and there may not be much available. It might make more sense to see if you can find something on your route on the Canadian side of the border and pick it up on your way to your destination.

    Good luck!

I assume you will cross the border at The Soo? Although since you are in OH maybe you will cross at Windsor? I have 32 feet of Delhi tower sitting here that you could have for free, and I am 15 minutes south of the 401.

Stated above, check the Ontario Swap Shop. Sorry, that on air swap is no longer on the air. Has not been on since the end of 2011.

But you can go here http://www.kwarc.org/swapshop/ and search the for sale ads or put a want ad on and see what you can find.

Thanks for the information and the generous offer. However, we cross in International Falls, MN/Fort Francis, ON. Its a 24 hour haul if we go straight through the night by the time its all said and done. That reminds me... I have to haul up a couch from the Falls this year for mom. Boy wouldn't that be a trip - tower sections tied to the top of the truck, a couch hanging out the back, etc, etc. Theres always something adventurous with my trip each year HI.

That's a lot of stuff to pack on a Harley.

You should probably try a truck.

OK Steve, I never thought about that route, makes more sense. Well I thought I would offer you the tower as I am not using it. Make sure those tower sections are tied down!
