    Default Tracking software for phone

I have a blackberry bold 7730 (it's relatively new... under 6 months). I guess it's considered a smartphone as I was able to download and install a couple of things on it (pandora, etc).

Is there any sort of satellite tracking software I can install on it? Most of the time I don't use any tracking software and just use guess work but it would be nice to have something to reference now and then if I can't find the satellite. Having it on the phone would be nice as opposed to dragging the laptop out.

    Thanks & 73,
    James KB2FCV

I never got it to work on my Black Berry Bold or Curve and I'm no "novice" Smart phone user. Note that the web page references 2008 updates.....

Clint, have you recently installed and used it? When you go to the SATME page it indicates you need to buy this application to use it.

The Download page omn the site states:

"The demo version will cease functioning at the end of the calendar month. After you have installed the demo version, used it for a while, and are satisfied with its behavior on your device (and perhaps given us some feedback!), you may choose to order a registered version which is in every way the same, except without the time limits."

I was approached at one of my presentations by a Blackberry user, who showed me the app. It worked well on his model ... I am not a Blackberry user - sorry.

Being that it is a Java app and NOT a native Blackberry application, it is very prone to issues. This is just the nature of Java on portable devices. The device manufacturer, in this case RIM, "tries" to get a stable Java engine but unfortunately it is not the same as x86 32 or 64-bit systems.
