My LOTW stats show that I am receiving a QSL 25% of the time. Perhaps only 25% of the ops out there keep a log? Perhaps ops stop logging/reporting once they receive the paper that they are chasing? My logs show that I've WAS several times over, but I'm still 10 QSLs short. It seems that the accomplishment of receiving an award isn't the fact that you worked the requisite stations, but rather that you were able to get enough ops to QSL.

When using my NGenlog logging software, QRZ pops up almost instantly with the stations information. What I like is viewing whatever photo the station has on his QRZ page. In 12 years, we have worked over 28,000 stations using CW mostly during contests.

I do all of the above. Love LoTW for DXCC, WAS, and now WPX. I have DXCC, WAS Basic, WAS Digital, WPX Mixed, and WPX Digital all through LoTW

I do have to give a special shoutout to eQSL for their incredibly efficient awards program and very nice eWAS plaque. I got my 50th eQSL for eWAS on July 18th. I applied for the award that same day and it was approved that same day. I immediately ordered the plaque ($60) and it arrived yesterday. Nine days from qualifying for the award to having the plaque in hand.

I like the real thing. Electronic QSLs just don't have the charm of a card received in the mail. It's very much like the difference between regular mail and email. A handwritten QSL (that someone took the time to fill out and mail) means MUCH more than a few keystrokes of an electronic QSL. I prefer a nice card in the hand over instant gratification.

I dunno, it isn't really rational. LoTW seems legit. There just seems to be something ersatz about eQSL to me. Don't get me wrong, I honor them with an AG response. I know many people like them.
