Default How many musicians or organists among us?

I just recently took up organ again, finding a new/old hobby to be relaxing. I found a Lowrey Genie console in perfect working order for less than
$120, and started playing again. It is relaxing, and challenging as I find that, as usual, I have trouble with the pedals what with my "duck paddle" feet at 9 1/2 EEE. I can't play organ well, but I sure can paddle in the pond nicely!

I played organ for years and miss my Hammond B3 which was lost in a flood (don't ask, it's a sad story). I did have the pedal console and Leslie to match and it was a great organ, although it used tubes and took a minute to warm up.

Still have a few keyboards and a piano at home, but no real organ anymore.

I played the pedals with socks only, no shoes. I used to really admire anyone who could play them with shoes. With socks you can "run" the pedals like a keyboard and do neat stuff.

Because the B-3, and mostly the Leslie motorized speaker system/amplifier were a PITA to move and took at least a van to move from one place to another (and a dolly to move the Leslie) I was alwasy grateful if we could get a "gig" that would last a few weeks or a few months, playing the same place without having to move it all around. That was so nice! The drummer understood, but the guys playing guitars or horns never did.

That reminds me. I watched something on the history network or what not a few years back about the Hammond B3. Not sure why, but I did. :P

PS: I can't play well but I did have a piano as a kid. Got okay at it but that's about it. Suppose that is why the show caught my attention.

I can play the electric radio...but that's about it.
