RF Electronics HF/6m 500/400 watts SS Amplifier
I'm selling my Lee Martin designed and built "Skywalker" solid state HF/6m 500/400 watt
amplifier from R.F. Electronics.
12 - 15 volts DC @ 70 Amps
4 - 2SC2879 transistors. (120 watts each)
Bare bones Amplifier.
R.F. Electronics is no longer around but Lee is
still around and supports and repairs these (and other) solid state amps. Many of
you know of Lee and these amplifiers.
This one is two separate amps in one box with separate antenna connections, front meters,
and keying jacks. These amps need a hefty DC power supply like
an Astron RS-70. The H.F. side is working beautifully putting out 500 watts
with 20-40 watts drive (depending on the band). I haven't tested the 6m
side but assume it's working just as well but can't guarantee that it is.
The 6m side is supposed to put out 400 watts with about 25 watts of drive.
It's not pretty but it's a real workhorse and I've gotten nothing but good audio and
signal reports with it.
It has no protection etc. built in but high SWR never caused a problem with it.
The main thing is not to overdrive it.
I'm asking $350.00 plus shipping for it, paypal only. My guess is that someone who is
familiar with Lee's amps will snap this up.
More pictures (including inside) available on request.
Alot of extra wire in there.
Question, Does that amp have an RF "Sniffer" circuit in there, or a relay hook up wire? Im not seeing a relay connection on there, and is there an ALC connection?
I see there were some comments by people that actually
know nothing about these amps. Moot point now.
