Default Connecting HRD to DM 780 / Yeasu FT-450

When I try to connect DM to HRD I get the following message:

Digital Master 780 not connected to HRD

Error connecting to " port 0 - The requested address is not valid in it's context

    Check:
" is the correct address (don't know what that means)
    HRD is started (it is)
the HRD TCP/IP server is running (don't know what that means)
Access is not blocked by a firewall (added HRD and Digital Master to list of allowed programs)

    Rig FT-450
    Two sets of cables
RS 232 to FTDI USB serial adapter
Din plug to mic and speakers

I can watch the water fall (tho awfully yellow not blue)
I can read QSOs but can't transmit.

    I would appreciate any help.

OK, before we jump into the DM780 issues, does HRD properly connect to the radio? Do you see the same frequency on HRD as the radio display? Can you change the various settings in HRD and see / hear that they are changed on the radio?

If HRD can't connect to the radio, all DM780 can do is decode the audio -- but it can't transmit via HRD. The Yellow in the waterfall is most likely the input level from the radio to the mic / line input on PC being too high.

Yes sir, HRD does show the radio and freq. I can change the freq. and settings in HRD to the radio, and the radio responds.

I'm at work, so I don't have a radio and HRD available, but it sounds like there may be some HRD or DM780 settings that are not right. You might Google the exact error message and see if anyone else reports this.

I did a quick Google and found this: http://forums.hrdsoftwarellc.com/sho...-not-connected It doesn't explain the fix, but apparently it is in the documentation / FAQ.

Otay -- here is one more thing to look at: http://dm780.ham-radio-deluxe.com/Ge...B/Default.aspx
