    Default AL-80B 10 meter Modification

I cut the green wire and put the band switch to Aux. I get no output at all from the amp when trying to transmit and it also negates all output from the transceiver. When I switch the amp to standby, then once again I can transmit on 10M with xcvr without the amp. Any ideas?

Does the amp still work on the other bands? Have you checked the SWR between the Xcvr and the Amp?

Hope you cut the right wire.

The original wire (uncut) shorts out the input on the AUX bandswitch position, so your rig would be transmitting into a near short circuit and probably produce no output.
