Default Wide Spectrum noise on HF <14MHz

Anyone else noticed the "HF Duck"? I've been hearing it a while now on 75m and 40m and a friend tole me he heard it on 20m a day or so ago. I never go above 20m too often so I'm not sure if it's there or not.

It's usually a burst of thee or four "quacks".

Or it could be the Aflac Duck - that is a critter we get to see in the states while watching College Football (or hand egg to you guys across the pond). Aflac is an insurance company.

Today on 60M several operators are hearing it at the same timed type of intervals as it is on 40M, and 80m. I can not be on that many frequencies on several bands at once to see if they are all striking at once but my guess is its covering a lot of spectrum at once. The consensus I am getting back seems to be over the horizon radar is the culprit. Who knows ???? No Such Agency has released the mad quacker on us

I gotta apologize... It waz me!! I bought this 'OTH' radar machine from a UA0(zero) on E-bay a while back. I played with it on 10mhz a few months ago. Got complaints. Shut it down. Bought 'Quacker' thingy (E-bay CB equipment). Figured since all the contests were over (until next weekend) I'd play with my Ruskie OTH Radar / Quacker-woodpeckerhead thingy. Sorry... nw hr QRT / SK

Looks like an Ionospheric sounder to me. Not a duck and not an OTHR.
