We shall see if they actually go through with it...
My next computer will run Windows Seven, the one after that won't be running windows at all unless my clients choose to migrate to it.

GEEZ, Tom. If you haven't read the "Dummies" books yet, you have NO IDEA as to what you're doing wrong and still getting it to work! Bill Gates will get you for that.

You know it's really sad the last book I bought that was suppose to educate me on what was in Windows (The Windows XP registry) didn't teach me a damned thing I didn't already know.

You forgot the prime directive: you are supposed to forget everything you know before you read the book. Then you will get your money's worth. Thot you knew that.

You mean there's ACTUALLY a more recent "MS-DOS" Operating System then DOS 3.2? I guess I had better look into upgrades. (And I thought "DOS 3.2" was actually an Apple ][ Operating System developed by "the WOZ" in a weekend!! Boy, am I behind the times. But the Apple ][+ still works. (How many 16K IBM PC's can say the same??? We won't even mention the "IBM Peanut.")

    Ugh.

My first step with a new to me computer is to DBAN the drive(s) and put on a fresh linux installation. Firmware Windows would be a PITA.

M$ marketing will put a positive spin on it like "Always Windows Ready!" I guess I'll have to go back to the old days of building my own computers. It really isn't worth the expense. I'll do it if that's what I have to do to run linux boxes.

I'm sure the Open Source crowd will be able to remove the embedded virus if this becomes a reality.
