    Default Ameritron 811H help

    Hello
I have recently purchased an 811H and I'd like to use it with my Yaesu FT-107M.
On the rear of the 107M is the only connection for an amp and it is a 5 pin din connector.
I do have an Ameritron ARB-704 which has a "Multi-Port" on the rear of the unit. I am hoping I can wire 2 RCA connectors to this 5 pin Multi-Port and run them to my amp. I just don't know
I am not familiar with amps at all as this is the first amp I have owned in 36 years as a ham.

The 5 pin din on the 107M is as follows:
    1. -ALC IN
    2. GND
    3. TX GND
    4. GND
    5. RX GND
Below is a partial of the ARB-704 schematic with the output show.

Would someone be kind enough to tell me where to connect to run my 2 rca plugs to the 811H amp ALC OUT and Relay? Or.... Should I go in another direction? I sure would appreciate any help.
    thanks

You need the 5-pin DIN plug and two shielded cables with RCA phono plugs on their ends, plus one RCA phono to RCA phono shielded cable (regular phono "patch" cable, unstripped, with RCA phono plugs on both ends).

Connect the cable (one RCA phono plug cable) from the "ALC OUT" port on the amplifier to pins 1 & 2 of the DIN connector, with the center conductor going to pin 1 and the shield (ground) to pin 2.

Connect the cable (the other RCA phono plug cable) from the "RADIO" port on the ARB-704 to pins 3 & 4 of the DIN connector, with the center conductor going to pin 3 and the shield (ground) to pin 4.

Connect the RCA phono "patch" cable from the "AMP" port on the ARB-704 to the "RLY" port on the amplifier.

Simple as that. This all takes a couple of minutes.

The most important thing is having the 5-pin DIN plug! The Yaesu probably came with one in a little bag, but a lot of people lose them.

Hello Steven..... You are the Best!!! Thank you so much my friend! I'm going to make the cable right now.
I didn't get an auto response from this thread and I thought I'd check it.... I'm glad I did. You really made my day.
    Thanks a million!

    No sweat, Jerry.

BTW I spent a lot of my life not far from you, in N. Andover. At the Raytheon MSD facility. Big damned place.
