Does anybody know or remember how long is the drive cable that comes with the Amplifier.

    Thanks

The 2K Classic has as its RF input connector a BNC connector.

Are you referring to the RF input cable that came with the accessory box?

It was either 6 or 10 feet.

    I use a 6 foot cable of RG 213/U with a PL259-to-BNC adapter for my 2K-4.

My question is, why would it matter? I believe the 2K has a tuned input, so length shouldn't matter at all. And, RG8X should be good enough for such a short length.

While that may be true, it is a lousy way to correct an impedance transformation!

If one were using the coax for conjugate matching, that obviously only works on one band, or a narrow band of frequencies within one band, so I agree this is kind of silly.

I thought the OP was asking so he could create the original "accessories kit" for a "For Sale" amp and just made sure he provided the new buyer with everything exactly as it came. Henry did not use selected, tuned lengths for this; they just used a convenient length that would reach for most stations. Knowing the Henry operation as I do (or did, since they no longer manufacture amateur HF amps), I'd guess this was not a fixed length by specification and may have changed from run to run depending what they felt like providing. They made lots of configuration changes over the years, and even over months.

My Henry amps (and I've had a few) didn't come with this cable at all! But perhaps some did, I don't remember.

The OP was not very explanatory, which is why I asked the OP about the accessory box. Once he replied yes, I had no further questions regarding input matching or otherwise.

You can use any length you want for the input cable since the Henry's have pi-tuned input circuits on all models I have seen.

The accessory box for the 2K classic included: tubes, chimneys, manual, RF input cable, relay and ALC cables, box of fuses, PL-259 connector and spline wrenches.
