    Default Nigeria

    I’m going into Africa. Nigeria.
What radio to take with itself? What antenna?
I do not have experience in the expeditions. Who can give information? What is better to take with itself?

If it were me I would take a Yaesu FT-897 or FT-857 and a small tuner. For antenna a Buddipole would work well.

Depends on what you have or might be buying and amount of space for the equipment. If very small is desired I guess if you like them a K3 or a IC-7000 (I've heard Lot's of both of these) often. Two fellows from Central Africa use IC-7000 in just the last year or so I noted them in my log both on battery power and a P29 also.

It all depends where you are going and what is available when you get there as far as equipment to suggest.

    Arthur,
Just checked my log for some who have operated from Nigeria in the past two years, which I listed below. Most of them have their email address listed at QRZ.com. I'm sure they can give you some pointers about radios and antennas, as well as how to get a proper license to operate in Nigeria.
