The below frequesncies for PSK31 are what I have manged to gather from various web sites, but there are some small contridictions. Keen to hear what others experiance as the commonly used frequesncies for this mode.

Ham forums are pretty slow moving!
The only ones I work regularly are 20m/14.070 and 40m/7.035. I think you've got something amiss in assigning both 40m frequencies to Region 2. 035 was originally proposed for Regions 1 and 3, and 070 for Region 2. But I'm in Region 2, and don't think I've ever seen anything on 070; what little I do see, these days, is on 035. However, I've only being using the mode for just under a year, so maybe it was different in times past.
All the activity I see, world wide, tends to be on 14.070. Maybe that just reflects the current state of the sunspot cycle?
No, nothing involving the sunspot cycle, in Europe there are minor differences 40 metres is mostly 7.038 but it changes on occasions depending on interference from CW, 30 metres is 10.140. and there's never too many on 15 metres for the need to go above 21.070. but its going to one fantastic day when I hear anybody in Big Oz, hens teeth and all that !
According to the band plan in region 1 7040 through 7050 is assigned to digimodes (it has been changed two years ago or so). However, I haven't heard any psk31 above 7040 yet -- ops are still using the "old" frequency 7038.

I am new to ham radio and psk31. I live in an area that limits my antenna size. I was looking at maybe 20M end loaded wire. Do you think that is a good choice. I am open to all ideas. I will probably have to wait until I can get all the parts together to make a small QRP system for 20M. Being retired and on fixed income is a thing that teaches patience.

Do some Googling and have a look at the wire antenna's suggested by QRP groups. There's one made with zip wire which has been around for years. Probably an end fed might be the answer, but do some looking around and you'll find something suitable
Hello Marcus, I thought I'd had a contact with every radio ham in Germany! I haven't had a contact with you, I don't recall a GEM. I bet I'll see you on the screen next week !
