Red face Internet Explorer Users Have Lower IQ

Users of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer web browser have lower IQ than their counterparts who use other browsers, a study from a web consulting firm reveals.

According to a large study conducted by Vancouver, Canada-based AptiQuant, those who use the Internet Explorer web browser scored lower in an IQ test they conducted.

The large study which involved 100,000 participants says Internet Explorer users scored lower than average in the IQ test.

In a news release, AptiQuant says:

“AptiQuant offered free online IQ tests to over a 100,000 people and then plotted the average IQ scores based on the browser on which the test was taken. And the results are really not that surprising. With just a look at the graphs in the report, it comes out pretty clear that Internet Explorer users scored lower than average on the IQ tests.”

The Psychometric Consulting firm reveals that “Chrome, Firefox and Safari users had just a teeny bit higher than average IQ scores.”

Furthermore, Camino, Opera and Internet Explorer with Chrome Frame users “had exceptionally higher IQ levels,” the company says.

Experts say, however, that the study is not very scientific as the pool of test takers volunteered to take the IQ test instead of a selected pool of participants to get a representative selection of test subjects.

First thing you learn about statistics is random sampling.

IE users the Forrest Gumps of browser users? I could have told you that! Hey Bill, K5UY, I told you so! But my friend Bill thought there was nothing wrong with Vista too. He he he. Told him he needed to get Linux and leave those SK operating systems like Vista alone. But he upgraded to Windows 7. Like upgrading from 3rd class to 1st class on the Titanic. ROFL!

Interesting how some non windows user compound the obvious flaws of their own behaviour by claiming unjustly the high ground , windows 7 has uses just like Mephis but you don't see any normal user thrashing one or the other , personally I can't stand ie but so what . Perhaps sir would like to take a lie down and a bex ?

Hey, I use XP and Winders 7 every day. Shouldn't stop anyone from telling the truth about their experiences. Look at the history of the PC and the evolution of Windows...not only the how, but the why. This is the beginning of the post-c era. That doesn't mean we'll burn our mousepads at all. I think it means we'll use PCs for tasks for which they are really needed versus looking at movies, listening to music, playing games. Those asks are moving to non PC-like devices that still retain basic functionality like a WP/Spreadsheet/etc, but NOT the main function. The PCs will do the heavy lifting and relieve people without IT departments at home from the hellish tasks of trying to get the PC to behave well.

Thats why the iPad sells so well. It just works. No Nerd in a box required.

The story which suggested that users of Internet Explorer have a lower IQ than people who chose other browsers appears to have been an elaborate hoax.

I don't care if I am as thick as a plank, the reason I use Internet Explorer is because my father always used it and his father before him.
