I got a used and not all there HV9 antenna , the missing parts were the wires at top , got that replaced with insulated stranded wire ?
I wanted to elevate this antenna on to my Rhoen mast and use the counterpoise , what I am looking for is info on dimensions , length of elements , wire around them , I have a exploded view from Butternut and it looks like there may be an extra section of mast with an extra insulator - not sure .
I have read that when you use the counterpoise , you not use the coil match at the base , not sure about the 75 Ohm cable , some confirmation if you know ?
Thanks John

Some updated info , I found that I will be eliminating the match coil & 75 Ohm cable when installing the counterpoise kit .
But still not sure about the extra section of mast / extra insulator or dimensions ?
Thanks
I am planning on moving my HF6v from ground to roof mount and don't recall anything about removing the quarterwave matching line for 20M (75 ohm coax section) or the base coil, just a general retuning advisory. You need far less radial wire for an effective counterpoise on a roof mount.

Lets see if I can attach the kit instructions ?
Terms , I was mentioning counterpoise kit , you are referring to radials ?
There are 2-3 listings at Butternut for these ?
Good to swap info , Thanks
Some updated informaton on my Butternut/Bencher HV-9 vertical antenna.

The optional CPK Counterpoise kit is NOT a substitute for a system of radial wires because it is
only partially effective in reducing the earth losses that can turn vertical antennas into inefficient
radiators. It is, rather, an electrical substitute for the "missing" half of a dipole antenna in that the
conductors of the counterpoise system in conjunction with the matching section of transmission line
provided contribute enough reactance to resonate the entire structure as an electrical halfwave. http://www.bencher.com/pdfs/00236IZV.pdf
1.) The bottom insulator (like all bottom or end fed vertical antennas) is to insulate the driven element.
2.) The coil across the bottom insulator serves 2 purposes. A.) Static drain; B.) Feedpoint matching.
3.) The 75 ohm coax (RG-11/U) matching section is needed for 20 meter operation.
Yahoo Groups has a Butternut antennas forum (worldwide owners).
That group may provide additional insight from actual owners and other installations.
BTW, The Wireman sells a pre-made 75 ohm matching section for the Butternut HF-6V and HF-9V antennas. I have one from Pres Jones, W8UG at The Wireman -- sitting here in my antenna repair parts bin.

Thanks again Gregory / Greg ?
I've got most all that , but like lots of stuff , repetition is a good thing , do not always catch everything the 1st time around .
On the install instructions for the CPK kit , it does say not to use the copper coil or the 70 Ohm coax = Pg. G-1 .
Then it mentions capacitive hat , Pg 3 G-4 , 1st time I caught that , have not seen any reference to a cap-hat ?
Then it says to my a coil-balun , Pg 3 G-6
But I am still not sure about the short mast section for CPK kit [ length ] or if there is another insulator on top of that [ makes sense though ] to electrically isolate it from the top half / antenna .
Or any mention of the dimensions for the CPK kit elements & wire ?
I want to make this kit and elevate on top of a Rhoen mast .
