Default Anderson Powerpoles on 100w feed lines/ladder line?

As per the title, any reason not to use Anderson Powerpoles as quick connectors on feed lines, to connect ladder line to a balun with a jumper, and balun to tuner with a jumper etc? I am setting up a portable system with tuner on a IC-7000 and would like to assemble/disassemble easily. Would be 100w max. Was thinking of color coded powerpoles so helpers can assist me without mixing up connections etc. Would also help with reducing wear/tear on connections, losing little nuts and bolts in the grass etc.

    Thoughts?

I don't know how they would act at frequency, but probably better than tying the wire ends together.

100W at 50 ohm would be 1.4 Amps or so. Based on that I would say it's safe.

I don't use them for anything. For balanced line interface in a portable setup, I'd use something inexpensive and generic like banana plugs & jacks.

I don't see where they would be a problem our club buys them in bulk by the 1,000 lot then members buy them a whole lot cheaper. It seems they are the de facto standard for all ecom use and for all FD connections also everyone has changed to them.

I've been very happy with Powerpoles as antenna quick connects. The color coding is nice and silver plated wiping contacts are good for antennas. They will take tons of RF current, I'm sure. Maybe not 30A, but I bet they'll do 15A+ with little problem. You're likely to have a hard time finding an application where you need that even with QRO.

The highest I've ever run them is about 5A on 160m. I use one at the base of my 60 foot vertical wire to disconnect it from the matching networks (http://n3ox.net/projects/stepperswitch/) , and I can run about 450W on 160m to that antenna (which has 12 ohms of ground loss) before the band switch on it arcs over With ground loss included I should be seeing about 5A in the wire.

Thanks for the replies all....should make things easier and a bit more quick to set up/tear down.

I just put 'em on my new 31' vertical feedline so that I can quickly disconnect the feedline in event of a storm - just a bit more protection for the expensive tuner at the base.

I've also used 'em to jumper the insulators in a multi-band dipole for setting the band. Not had any problems running up to 200 watts so far. I suspect the PP's are a slight wierdness but on HF probably won't matter.

The only challenge is that they don't take any pull so you need to tie 'em together it it takes any stress.

Oh, and I soldered mine, which I do NOT do for normal DC connectors.
