W5KUB.Com will start the live broadcast on Wednesday May 18th at approx 0800 Central Time or 1300 UTC.
We will be broadcasting our 550 mile drive live on Wed May 18th.
We will broadcast our shelter set-up on Thursday morning May 19th at Hara Arena at approx 0900 Eastern time or 1300 UTC and them might broadcast the Air Force Museum on that afternoon. Then we will be live for the entire Hamvention Friday 20th through 22nd.
We will also be giving away over $5000 to lucky winners on our broadcast. All you have to do is be logged into our chatroom and claim your prize when your name is called.
This year prizes include:
Grand prize FT-950, Icom IC80AD D-star radio, headsets with mic from Heil Sound, headset and mic from TenTec, Diawa wattmeters, LDG auto antenna tuners, Comet antennas, baluns, communication speakers, weather stations, ham hats, QSL cards, ham plaques, many other ham related prizes. We have so many prizes that we will be giving them out every 20-30 minutes during live broadcasts.
Last year we had over 50,000 unique hams follow us on the broadcast in about 150 countries. Log into the chat room and chat with us or other hams watching the broadcast.
Also Astronaut Col. Doug Wheelock, commander of expedition 25 on the International Space station is scheduled to be our guest at our booth. Watch for that interview. I personally talked to Col Wheelock 28 times while he was aboard the space station. There will also be other surprise interviews and guests.
The site is http://w5kub.com and it is on 24 x 7, 365 days per year. It will have recorded videos when we are not live. Come on over to the website and say hello.
Thanks,
Tom W5KUB

I always enjoy logging in and hearing the guys. The discussion board is always fun too. Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it to Dayton this year, but will log in and check-in when I can.

This is a good time if you have it to spend watching. You can win prizes also just by logging in.
Tom is a Great Guy to do this every year for us that cannot get down to Dayton.

Hi guys. thanks for the comments. yes we will definitely try to do some walk throughs inside the buildings. We used to do it, but about 3-4 years ago, something happened and there is practically zero coverage for our uplink. there are some very limited wifi spots. nothing seems to work well inside the building friday and saturday. guess there is too much rf floating around in there. on sundays when many people have already left, coverage inside the building becomes useful. I have also talked to the hamvention committee there and they say internet works but theirs also becomes pretty much unusable too. We have several different ways to get connections and will try our best. Dont forget, we go live on Wed morning at 0800 central 1300 utc as we start our 500 mile drive. see you , Tom W5KUB

If possible, try to stop by the Kit Building booth in the ARRL Section. Here we are trying to enthuse new hams in the lost art of Electronic Assembly and Soldering. Todays hams are primarily appliance operators, but some of us still do build our own equipment. This Kit Building booth hopes to spark some interest in new hams to give it a try. I am sure your viewers would love to see new hams, especially the kids, soldering and building things for the first time in their lives!

Hay Pat, stop by Tom's booth and say hi to us. And buy me 1000 door prize tickets.
