Is Palstar out of the linear amplifier business?

I noticed recently, that the Palstar website, no longer hosts the Commander range of amplifiers. Happened to check the website, because I was considering a used HF2500 offered for sale. Does anyone know who is currently selling and supporting Commander amps?

Its certanly no loss. As someone who repairs amps for others I never met a company before who was so obnoxious on the phone.

Typo Carl? DON Kessler isn't it? There is a lawsuit pending and Commander was sold to the wireless tower company who recently made a major statement of intent here on one of the forums. They intend to revive Commander in some form perhaps through another manufactuer some think it might be MFJ? But that is just speculation. Dayton may reveal some new information perhaps.

That's unfortunate. I had a National NCL 2000 back in the 80's that broke. Though National Radio was long gone by then, I located the designer of the amp in Swampscott, Mass. He spent literally hours with me on the phone, even sent me some great replacement diodes with the right PIV at no charge.

I was on the NCL-2000 design Team, Max had nothing to do with it, he worked in another division as a marketing type. He was in the right place at the right time to buy a lot of parts at a company auction to which we are all grateful. I was working in the Chicago area at the time and was back in NH when the final IRS auction took place in 1991 where a good part of the remaining NCL inventory followed me home.
