Pensacola Florida, March 7, 2011: W4PC Software announced today they have added new products to the next release of the Radio Operations Center software line for Elecraft, Flex and Ten-Tec radios, as well as support for the SDR-IQ, microHAM Digi Keyer II, the West Mountain Radio RIGblaster Advanced, Timewave HamHub II and MDS rotors.
Erin Butler, KJ4MFO, W4PC Software’s President said, “Customers who purchase products, or 12 months or more in tech support services today, will receive a free upgrade to version 5, when released in May, as well as free extended support.”
The Radio Operations Center software line has products for the AEA/Timewave, Kantronics and MFJ TNCs, and Alinco, Icom, Kenwood and Yaesu radios. The current release of Kenwood Software supports the Flex and Elecraft radios and the Icom version supports select TenTec radios.

Look again
Normally, HRO will sell our products *below* the suggested retail price and they have done that in the past. We support the dealer selling, so if they want to sell below retail to save YOU GUYS money, then we're all for it.

Why would you pay money for an app that controls some old stinky TNC when you could buy a cheap signalink and use HRD for free?

Looks very nice I know the trend of marketing only kidding the most important thing is moving product quickly in a market that changes so fast.
GOOD LUCK!!

OK, I'm not trying to lampoon the software or this thread, but what does this do that a $100 sound card interface (signalink) and a donation to HRD or other free packet/digital software and rig control not do?
I studied the website, but I still don't fully understand why I would need this software.
I'm trying to learn more about digital modes so please be patient and keep the conversation constructive.
Thanks, Sam

Sam, soundcards cant do ARQ modes. They can only so FEC modes, so if you want to do AMTOR, PACTOR, GTOR ARQ, then you need a TNC.
The signalLink is just a soundcard, you're using your $500+ computer to do the decoding of the modes, where a TNC (which you can get at hamfest for < $50) decodes the modes even when the computer is off.
And you get phone and email and remote desktop support. If two companies produce software, and one gives one on one support and the other wants you to use a peer group for support, which would you rather choose?
Do you want to talk to the developer, or just the peer users?
Saying that, Simon is HRD, but his focus has become the SDR software. HRD 5 has been in beta for 2 years. Now dont get me wrong, I like Simon and I think he writes good code, but he doesnt provide the level of support Erin and I do. (and yes, Erin and I are W4PC software).
I've found out on average, people donate between $15-$60 every 3 months to HRD, which is the same pricing level we have. (in fact, our 3 months of support costs $9.95).
And we're a U.S. company, like TenTec, Elicraft, Flex, etc.
So it's like a radio, if you want a signallink and HRD, fine, if you want our software with your signalink, or with a TNC, that's fine too. It's like picking a Yaesu over a TenTec, it's a personal decision.
