    As you might have guessed, it was a valid call sign, but not from this person.

    Be careful out there!

    [QUOTE=N5AL;2172361]N7AXL,

    BTW, the same thing can happen with money orders.

    I never use or accept private money orders. I also send or receive ONLY USPS (United States Postal Service) Money Orders. When I receive USPS Money Orders, I take it to the Post Office to cash it before I send any product. By cashing it at the Post Office, the Money Order is validated through computer system before they hand you the money. This way you will know its a good Money Order and if it is fake, you have helped the Post Office catch a Theif.

    Default Throw in some questions...

    Most scam emails are pretty easy to spot.
    As another poster mentioned, you can throw
    in a technical question, which will they will invariably fail.
    I had a "Want To Buy" ad for an SM-230.
    I received a hinky sounding resonse and replied:
    "Does your unit contain the Heisenburg Demodulator Option?"
    When they replied that it did, well......no sale.

    Please ready the many stories below of users that sent western union and were scammed.
    The universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space.
