I can't believe no one has mentioned it yet, but I hate it when people confuse the words then and than. It seems to happen about 70% of the time, depending on the forum.

What about "Ham", "ham", and "HAM" preceding the word, "Radio"? Where did the 'all caps' spelling of the word come from - an acronym for High And Mighty? When I started in this hobby, and up until a few years ago, there was "Ham Radio" or "ham radio".

If you can look at the QST archives at the League website, you'll find all cap spellings of ham as far back as 1932, maybe farther. BTW, it looks funny to me too.
