Default Brother, can you spare some monkey crap?

Coax seal, the greatest stuff on earth! Nasty black goo that comes in rolls - waterproof, UV proof and over all general fixall.

Except, the local RF surplus shop quit carrying it - apparently it's not that popular.

It comes free when you buy and antenna from Radio Works.

I use the old Navy rubber tape. You can buy cold shrink tape from a lot of suppliers and it works great but it's not easy to get off. The longer it stays on the harder it is to remove. I have used the monkey goop and it does work very well but is also a major pain to remove.

Try asking around for 'duct seal'.

Our local electrical supply houses sell it. I'll bet the HVAC places do, too.

Ideal makes it and so does GB.

"The best number is 73. Why? 73 is the 21st prime number. Its mirror (37) is the 12th and its mirror (21) is the product of multiplying, 7 and 3. ... In binary, 73 is a palindrome, 1001001 which backwards is 1001001."

"Just to invite your attention to "73" in Morse code--also a palindrome."

I wonder what the Navy uses now that replaced the Monkey DooDoo?

Boy that stuff was hard to get off your hands after you used it to pack around a cable in a Stuffing Tube.

Use the new silicone tapes that are on the market. Mighty Fix It is the same as Rescue Tape. Just a whole lot cheaper.

Think of a silicone caulk like seal without the mess and problems removing it.

    Default Long, long ago...

... alongside a pier far, far away my Chief told me to go up to supply on the tender and get a can of monkey poop. I spent hours trying to find out what the Navy supply system called monkey poop.

I knew what it was, but didn't have an empty can to get the stock number and the catalogs didn't list "monkey poop."

Chief knew that.. You have to admit that's funny...

Years ago we were doing some testing at Ft Lewis, WA. We needed a VRC-12 radio for one of the CUCV's and asked the supply Sergent to get us one. He messed up the NSN (we think) by one or two numbers and we wound up with a brand new truck, radio and all. The Colonel had fit but then decided to keep it anyway... The military is a strange and wonderful mess.
