We need to get our justice system to a logical position , instead of an adversarial position , it should take a co-operative position , both side acknowledge the truth and the defense find the best outcome , considering the facts of the case .
The best liar wins - is just plain wrong .
That is their job: To get their client off. It's a basic foundation of our justice system. Both sides get a fair hearing. In this case, the prosecutor's job is to nail them at any costs. And, the defense's job is to get their client off at any costs.
It tends to balance things out. Kind of like everyone trumping their resume up

That again is the problem , ignoring the facts and enforcing beliefs .

I know someone who very recently was accosted by pirates off the coast of Africa.
For some reason the boarders went back to their own ship for a moment, during which the victim throttled up and legged it.
'Twas a trawler with big engines - I assume the skipper had determined he could outrun the pirates if he got a chance.
In any case, he's home now and I await a full telling of the tale when I see him next.

Problem with facts? They don't always tell the whole story.
Let's take a murder case.
A person died between 1AM and 2AM.
The significant other has no alibi between 1AM and 2AM.
There is a big life insurance policy out on the person who died. The sig. other is the beneficiary.
That's the only facts. Should the person be sent to jail?

My nephew was a missile tech on the Blue Ridge, 25+/- years ago. He said their favorite sport was West Pacific 'Bear' baiting.
30 years ago, I read that a woman had bought the superstructure of a scrapped CV to use as a house. I wouldn't mind having the superstructure of a Perry Class frigate, if it came with the mainmast.

If you have to worry about the cost of HF e-mail, you can't afford the boat.

Plate by plate and rib by rib, I would imagine. To be rewelded at the home site. Whatever can be built, can be disassembled.
