Default Contacts with the ISS - FROM the ISS

Doug Wheelock has recorded and NASA posted a 20 minute video showing how the contacts with the station work, from his perspective.

I think it's nicely done, and while it probably didn't show the "pile-up" at it's potential worst, it still makes me realize how lucky I was to be able to get through at all.

It is a nice educational video. I doubt the pile-up was at its worst, but it was nice to have an insight to what Doug hears on the rig

That was so cool! I am just amazed I got in last September with my 5 watt ht standing outside. Amazing.

    Thumbs up

Colonel Doug Wheelock is/was scheduled to return to "terra firma" today via the Soyuz capsule. His promotion of amateur radio during his tenure at the ISS was truly remarkable.

I wish to thank him for his service to our country, his efforts in the space program and for his countless QSO's from NA1SS to hams around the world...and perhaps beyond!

    Thank you Colonel!

Great Video. I still remember how excited I got when Cmdr Wheelock came back to my call. It may be a while before we have somebody else that good up there.

Best wishes to Cmdr Wheelock and his family.
