I am an amateur radio operator, in what still is, at least somewhat, a quasi-technical hobby.

Just keep in mind the "123" is a serial number and starts at 1 and increases by 1 with each station you work.

This crazy exchange is why I never work SS . . . too much stuff to pass back and forth!!

Looks like I have about 35 mins of quiet before the bands go haywire!!

Good luck to all! I'll be listening on the sidelines!

I haven't had my radio on for 12 years and I hooked it up today and heard this contest going on. I couldn't find any info other than this post as to what was going on, but with just the driven element of my old beam sitting on the 4x4 posts of my wooden fence, I made contact to 20 contesters in about an hour or so on 15 and 20 meters.

I remember the "A" designation, but not sure what the "M" and "U" ones are for. I'm guessing "M" is > 150W. Not sure what the QRP designation is. I made contact to one guy and found I had my power all the way down to about 6 watts or so.

And once again, the bands are filled with the happy sounds of a contest. I have nothing against contests per se, but do we have to have one every weekend that covers all bands all day? It would be nice to be able to chase a little high band DX on the weekends now and then... sigh.

not being able to work the a specific call on more than one band really blocked the logs up. a revision that really should be considered in the contest rules. id had a about 2 1/2 pages of dupes
