Antennas interacting with each other
What is the absolute minimum a 10 m (band) vertical antenna can be placed next to a tower with a three element SteppIR before they start interacting with each other and causing problems?
I think the vertical will be impacted by the tower or mast supporting the beam, and that will be the only interaction.
The beam shouldn't be impacted by the vertical at all.
Actually, the vertical is not going on top, it could be anything from eight-foot mounted on a post from the mast, or 40/50 feet mounted on the chimney
I understood that. The interaction will be between the vertical, if it is mounted alongside the tower or mast that supports the beam, and that tower or mast: This, because they're both vertical.

1/2-wavelength of separation between the 10m vertical and the tower -- only about 17 feet -- should isolate them from each other quite well.
These are two very different questions.
Part 1: If the antennas are anywhere on the same planet, they're going to interact.
Part 2: "....and cause problems." Not usually a problem if they're more than a wavelength apart or so.

Yes, I did wonder. I think possibly I will relocate from the pole that is only 8 feet from the mast, to a little bit further away so I shouldn't have any problems. Thanks a lot guys
If its any help, I have in my backyard a 200' loop, and a vertical sits maybe two feet outside the loop, on one of its corners.
One day when I was transmitting 80meters @ 100w on the loop, I noticed there was a full watt coming back down the vertical into the dummy load.
Wow, a 20 db path loss over two feet!
