    Growing up in Las Vegas, I never went to school on Halloween. Nobody did. We had all day to get our costumes just right. I never thought about the WHY of it until after moving up here to Washington and seeing that kids DID have to go to school on Halloween.

    Then I remembered something about Nevada becoming a state in 1864. October 31, 1864, to be exact...

    I wonder if this "little fun of Halloween" has a little similarity to how the Nazi German military in WW II had a lot of fun killing millions of innocent civilians for it's few years of existence, until this fun ended for Nazi Germany by the end of the WW II war.

    Has anyone noticed any possible similarities of the Ghosts and Goblens of Halloween, and the secret police activites of a military dictatorship ? Both act in ghostly manners, and both do secret and unannounced horrible things to real human beings that the ghosts and goblens don't like.

    And if you give them candy, they will go away.

    You can buy your Fright Dome tickets at this web address given below: basic fee is 34.95 and then 15.00 more for fast pass. I think that there is a service fee of 3.50 added to the total.

    Has Halloween changed, since a kid could buy a lot of candy for this amount that the kid has to pay out ?

    Yeah, there was this episode of Monk where his brother Ambrose was poisoned (or so he thought) by some Hallowe'en candy. Actually the candy was just stale, but Adrian did manage to catch the person who was trying to kill his wife with the poison candy.

    Why do you have to 'put your two cents in'... but it's only a 'penny for your thoughts'?
    Where's that extra penny going to?

    Your analogy makes as much sense as wondering if setting off fireworks on the 4th of July leads to being a terrorist and blowing yourself and others up for some cause.

    Nazi’s have worked their way into a lot of Halloween stuff because they are scary. Full fledged radical nazi’s were to be feared while they were around and in power. Now that they have slipped back undercover they really should be even more scary.

    They were after all many of the people in the higher echelons of power in the party were into the occult in a big way. {if you believe everything ever written on the subject, some takes a big grain of salt to go with it.}

    Scary not quite dead nazi’s are in many movies and stuff.

    I don’t really like scary movies. The ones from the 40’s and 50’s and some from even before that are laughable now days and the newer ones are just sickening to me.

    I quit going to the theaters to see the newer ones as they are just too graphic with all the special effects. I figure if I want to be that horrified all I gotta do is stand naked in front of a full length mirror.

    I just have one question. What on God's green Earth are those orange, squishy, large, peanut shaped candies made of?

    Among other things, Halloween is an opportunity to sell goods, just like many other official holidays.

    The anual death celebration is based upon many ancient traditions, all of them more or less evil. Gets kids interested in the macabre, the morbid, death in general before they have even really begun to live. But most kids seem to look way past what it actually is and see only the costumes, candy, and running around with friends. Ask someone who has been in a satanic cult how holloween goes for that crowd.
