Hi all...

I have a Yaesu VX-8DR Triband handheld which I absolutely love, and now is the time to give her a proper antenna.

On my house I have an existing VHF/UHF TV antenna which is wired with 75 Ohm RG-6. I have also built a 2 meter J-Pole. I want to mount the J-Pole on the existing antenna mast with the existing antenna, and use both.

I have been researching cables and I am a little overwhelmed with the options and variances between them. I have narrowed it down to RG-58, RG-8, or RG-213, I think. All these cables present 50 Ohms which is what I want for the VX-8DR.

Mainly I'm concerned with the coax choices but its a three parter:
1)I'm really cheap and want the best coax for the money
2)Is this a good idea in the first place
3)Will changing the TV antenna wire from 75 - 50 Ohms affect my TV viewing with it

Thanks to everyone in advance as you are always very helpful!
