Soldier's dogs surrendered to AZ shelter - Public help needed to facilitate a reunion

Arizona - Two Yellow Labradors recently found themselves in a precarious position. The dogs, owned by a soldier currently serving in Iraq, had been in the care of a friend of the deployed soldier. The couple caring for the dogs was entrusted with the dogs care until the soldier returned from duty.

Dogs cared for by a friend, and therefore safe - right? Not so fast. Apparently, legal guardianship was transferred to the friend for vet purposes, and the friend had a wife with allergies.
Despite being entrusted with the dogs' lives by a man off serving his country, the friend chose to turn the 2 dogs over to the Pinal County Animal Care and Control, rather than finding the dogs a guaranteed safe haven.

Thankfully, the shelter took pity on the 2 dogs, and contacted Helping Orphaned Hounds for help. Had they not, the dogs would have had only 24 hours to either be adopted or euthanized because they were considered to be an owner surrender to the shelter facility.
Boulder Falls Pet Resort wants to see the dogs reunited with their true owner and is currently housing them for free until every effort has been made to make that reunion possible. The rescue volunteers desperately want to contact the deployed soldier to let him know that his dogs are safe, and that they will be held until his return, but they have no way to contact him.

The friend that surrendered the dogs to the shelter refuses to release the soldier's name - merely stating that the person is deployed to Iraq. The public's help is needed to help locate the owner of these dogs. Someone is bound to recognize the dog's beautiful faces and can help to get word to the soldier to let him know what has transpired.

The dogs are approximately 2-4 years of age, one male, and one female. One dog is named Wyatt and the other is named Storm. If anyone has information about the person that owns Wyatt and Storm, they are asked to contact Rhonda Wagner Kuehn at Helping Orphaned Hounds at 1 406-697-5975

It seems then that a dogs best friend is not his man ! This is on par with the woman who adopted a young Russian boy, decided that he was subnormal and put him on a plane, on his own back to Moscow, where he didn't previously live, he was from Siberia 5,000 miles away. God knows how the US authorities allowed the adoption, and the same for the Russians allowing the boy out of Russia and both countries for sending him back.

Re: the dogs - Nice friend he had there. Unbelievable.

Re- the Russian kid: She sent him back because he was dangerously crazy. I have some experience here and yes, there are kids that are truly psychotic and show murderous tendencies even at very young ages. I have seen this firsthand, it is true. The problem is that there isn't anywhere for kids like that to go - no nuthouse will take them, no school will take them, doctors only shake their heads, and you have to lock your bedroom door at night so you don't get hacked to death in your sleep. This woman had no other choice.

These kids, even as young as say 5 or 6, torture animals, threaten to kill you, attack you, try to kill themselves, threaten and attack other kids, it goes on and on. Some are the victims of abuse and some are just, well, crazy. It's not a matter of discipline, these kids have something in their brains that is wired wrong.

My BS meter is dithering, mostly toward the 'full of it' side.

What motivation would there be to not say who the owner was, other than that person was some unknown soldier?

Dogs cared for by a friend, and therefore safe - right? Not so fast. Apparently, legal guardianship was transferred to the friend for vet purposes, and the friend had a wife with allergies.
Despite being entrusted with the dogs' lives by a man off serving his country, the friend chose to turn the 2 dogs over to the Pinal County Animal Care and Control, rather than finding the dogs a guaranteed safe haven.
So, uh, where are the records of any of this and what happened to the dog's tags?

And, uh, hubby had no idea about his wife's allergies, or did and brought the dogs home, anyway.

Methinks there is no soldier involved and never was. Somebody screwed up and fabricated the story is likely what happened.

This story has all the makings of viral news.

As a dog person, I hope the labs find a loving owner. They are great dogs and super great with kids. Stanley, AKA 'Pink Nose' (He is not an albino, he just has a pink nose like some white labs do) is with my X and my daughter and Capone AKA 'Pony' (He is a big as a horse) is Stanley's brother and lives with my X's brother.

If those dogs were close to me, I would have a home for them. Remember, K0LEY works for NOAH no-kill animal shelter. We could put them up there, they would be well cared for and start looking for a home. I don't think it would be hard to do.

"The best number is 73. Why? 73 is the 21st prime number. Its mirror (37) is the 12th and its mirror (21) is the product of multiplying, 7 and 3. ... In binary, 73 is a palindrome, 1001001 which backwards is 1001001."

"Just to invite your attention to "73" in Morse code--also a palindrome."

In this economy I see many pets up for adoption on Craig's list and the like.
Too many in shelters today too.
Many irresponsible people getting puppies thinking they are "plug and play" like the rest of the world today too.
It's sad to see so many animals abandoned. they find many just left in homes that owners have left and in many cases the animals are dead when found.
But, as a vet of 6 years in a combat era myself I have to ask why did the soldier have these dogs anyway. This is an all volunteer service we have today and he did not have serve at all or have dogs?
    It's called responsibility.
