This thread is intended to assist members on how to use the different options that you can control in your "User CP".

I have completed each step in each description myself so the information should be accurate. If you find you have any problems please send a detailed email to the EDITOR@QRZ.COM


The first thing you must always do in order to access the User CP is you MUST log into the website with your Username and Password. You can find the User CP button on the "Forums Home" page in the upper left corner under the box where you can look up callsigns.


YOUR PROFILE


EDIT YOUR DETAILS

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Click on "Edit Your Details", this will allow you to do the following

A) Change your email and/or password
B) Custom User Title
C) Date of Birth and the option to display it or not
D) Add your home website
E) Add your instant messaging names (ICQ, AIM, Skype, MSN, Yahoo)
F) Biography
G) Location
H) Interests
I) Occupation

When you are completed with making your changes remember to click the "Save" button.



NETWORKING


CONTACTS & FRIENDS

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Click on "Contacts and Friends" link, this will allow you to do the following.

5) To add a member to your contact list enter their callsign in the box located under where it says "Add a Member to Your List..."

6) Click on "Add Contact"

7) Repeat this until you have entered all the calklsigns you wish to add to your contact list.

8) Click the "Save Changes" button on the right side of the page just above where you entered the callsigns you added.




SOCIAL GROUPS

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under "Networking" click on the "Social Groups" link.

5) From here you can do the following:

A) Create a Group.

B) Search for Groups.

C) Subscribe to a group.

In whatever option you choose make sure to click on the "Save" button before exiting.




GROUP MEMBERSHIP

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under "Networking" click on the "Group Membership" link.

5) On the right side of the page click on the "Join Group" button.

6) After selecting your groups click on the "Join Group" button in the middle of the page.




SETTINGS & OPTIONS


EDIT AVATAR

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under "Settings and Options" click on the "Edit Avatar" link.

5) You can select an Avatar from the following.

A) Pre-Defined QRZ Avatars

B) Select "Option 1 - Enter the URL to the Image on Another Website" under "Custom Avatars"

C) Select "Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer" under "Custom Avatars"

6) Select your Avatar and click on "Save Changes" when completed.




EDIT EMAIL & PASSWORD

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under "Settings and Options" click on the "Edit Email and Passwords"

5) After making your changes click on the "Save Changes" button.




EDIT OPTIONS

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under "Settings and Options" click on the "Edit Options" link.

5) Once on this page you can change the following


LOG-IN PRIVACY

A) Use Invisible Mode

B) Allow vCard Download


MESSAGING AND NOTIFICATION

A) Receive Email

B) Default Thread Subscription Mode

C) Private Messaging



THREAD DISPLAY OPTIONS

A) Visible Post Elements

Show Signatures
Show Avatars
Show images (Including attached images and images in [IMG] code

B) Thread Display Mode

C) Number of Posts to Show Per Page

D) Default Thread Age Cut Off



DATE AND TIME OPTIONS

A) Time Zone

B) Start of the Week



MISC OPTIONS

A) Message Editor Interface

B) User Customizations

C) Enable my Contact Log

D) Show my Logbook

E) Accept incoming Logbook reports

F) Default Callsign View

6) Once you have made your selections click on the "Save Changes" button.



EDIT IGNORE LIST

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under "Settings and Options" click on the "Edit Ignore List" link.

A) Enter a callsign into the box labeled "Add a Member to Your List..."

B) Click on the "Okay" button





PRIVATE MESSAGES


LIST MESSAGES

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under "Private Messages" click on the "List Messages" link.

A) This will bring you to your "IN" box of your Private Messages.




SEND NEW MESSAGE

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under "Private Messages" click on the :Send a new Message" link.

5) Enter the callsign in the "Recipient Username(s)" box

6) Enter a subject in the "Title" box.

7) Write your message in the "Message Box"

8 Click on:

A) Preview message to view what the message will look like.

B) Click on "Submit Message" to send the message.




EDIT FOLDERS

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under "Private Messages" click on the "Edit Folders" link.

5) Create new folders by following the instructions on the page.

6) When completed click on the "Save Folders" button.




SUBSCRIBED THREADS


LIST SUBSCRIPTIONS

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this

4) Under "Subscribed Threads: click on the "List Subscriptions" link

5) On this page you can view any threads that you have subscribed to.




EDIT FOLDERS

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under "Subscribed Threads" click on the "Edit Folders" link.

5) Create new folders by following the instructions on the page.

6) When completed click on the "Save Folders" button.





MISCELLANEOUS:


EVENT REMINDERS

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under " Miscellaneous" select the "Event Reminders" link.

5) You will be able to view any saved Events.



PAID SUBSCRIPTIONS

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under " Miscellaneous" select the "Paid Subscriptions" link

5) If you are already a QRZ Subscriber it will show which Subscriber package you have and the Start and Expiry dates of them.

6) If you are not a Subscriber and wish to, click on "Subscription Center" in big blue letters.

7) Enter your callsign and password where indicated.

8) Select the Subscriber service you wish to purchase and follow the directions.


ATTACHMENTS

1) Log into qrz.com with your username and password.

2) Go to the Forums home page

3) In the upper left corner you will see "User CP" click on this.

4) Under " Miscellaneous" select the "Attachments" link.

5) You can view attachments posted to the website by you.
