    Default Canada Basic W/Honors

I did the basic test last week and received my certificate today. After taking the test I was told I got 88% and as I understand it a score of 80% or above is an honors mark giving HF privileges.

My question is should my certificate make a reference to the honors? all it say is Basic.
If it should say basic with honors I guess I should call Industry Canada about getting it changed (I tried to call today but after waiting on hold 20 min. I hung up)

Hope someone has the answer for me!

    Thanks!

The certificate will still say Basic, but when you look up your CS in the database, it will have a (+) beside it.

at least thats what ive assumed since we are paddling the same boat...

If you passed with an 88%, you need to get in touch with the examiner. http://www.Callsign.ca only shows basic for your call. It should have a (+) behind your name for Honors.

Would not be the first time they made a mistake. I had a heck of a time getting it straightened out when I took my advanced.

I did mine about a month ago, passed with 83% but my license did not have the (+) on it.

Called the amateur radio service center during business hours and it was all handled and straightened out within minutes. They actually do have a live operator, who updated the file as I was on the phone. Callsign.ca was updated overnight and I recieved my new copy in the mail today.

I usually find they are fast and very friendly there. My problem turned out to be the examiners fault. Simple mistake. Once they noticed it they got it straightened out for me asap.

Instead of marking the percentage down, they put the number of question I got right so they put down 43 which IC took as 43% instead of 86%. With a 50 question test IC didn't like that result!

But once they got the corrected form, they had my advanced set up in less than 24 hours!

    I was happy!

Jeff ..... I've just looked up your callsign on the Radio Amateurs of Canada callsign webpage and indicates that indeed you have "+" next to your name. You've obtained basic with honours and you're good to go on HF! Congratulations.....maybe we'll hear you the bands somewhere
