question, how is he going to go to a URL if the PC keeps locking up ?
i had a PC that did that once, i just unplugged the usb mouse and plugged it back in again, i think the key word here was update the mouse driver, and run an anti-vireu program (wow i can type French lol) {Anti-virus},, there are a ton of free ones out there like AVG and also run an
ad-ware program like Ad-aware all can be found on www.download.com

after a nice clean format of the hdd and installed o/s and all of the drivers for the pc to operate, i then install the three above as top priority before i install anything else...
anyhow..
see if you can use another computer or laptop and use a usb memory stick/drive, down load all of the files from the above link to the usb stick/drive and then take the usb drive/stick to your Sick PC and plug it in to a usb port and brows to your usb drive/stick and install and set up
normally can be found in My computer once the usb is connected to the Sick pc...
