Default Beware the Ides of March

Remember, 2054 years ago today Julius Caesar was murdered in Rome (44 BC).

I didn't like Caesar very much, was not sorry to see him go.

    Default Famous Last Words

As Big Julie his very self was last heards to utter

"Infamy! Infamy" You've all got it in fer me!"

Oh, if he had only listened to his soothsayer:

"Now, listen to me big Jules-there'll be no ides 'ere"

But listen? Listen he would not.

Some say his very final words were "Oh! You Brute!"

    Others say it was "errgh".

    Sic Transit Julius Magnus.

If you find something you cannot do, start doing it. Pretty soon you will find how you are doing some of it wrong and put that right. After a while, you will find you are doing it all right. Advice given to me by Lynn L. Augspurger in 1978, who sadly died January 2013.

His ghost was often referenced by Perry White in the Superman TV series.

His cousin Chavez was a famous guy here in California; all kinds of stuff named for him.

Built a cool palace on Las Vegas Blvd. also.

There's the old story about the serf
whose garden produced the largest strawberry
anyone had ever seen. People came from miles
    just to admire it.

When the King learned of this, he was
overcome with envy. Wanting it for his
Royal Self he sent some of his men to
    confiscate it.

The farmer at first welcomed the knight
in charge of the mission, but was soon
dismayed at learning of the purpose of
    the visit:

"I have come to seize your berry, not to praise it."
