    Default NE-602

    Howdy, folks.
I'm looking for an NE-602 mixer IC (or a drop-in replacement) for a project, but I haven't been able to find anything. Anyone know where to find one of these units?
    Thanks in advance

They're on eBay all the time. Equivalent part numbers are NE612, SA612, and SA602.

    Jameco Electronics www.jameco.com
    SA612AN part number 1367980 about $2 each.

Also available from Mouser www.mouser.com for a bit less price.

These come in both 8-pin dip and surface mount versions so pay attention to which one you order.

Just FYI in case anyone is interested, the Fall 2009 issue of QRP Quarterly had an article "NE602 Lives On Under a Different Name" by WA8MCQ and including archival information by NA5N, that gives some interesting history of the device and describes the relationship between the NE602, NE612, SA602 and SA612. Interesting read.
