Default 8 Hams attacked by Hatians?

I just received a report from a Mensan Ham, which was alleged to be reported by a Canadian Radio Club. It was reported that a group from the Dominican Republic, including eight hams, have been attacked by desperate Hatians, who they came to help.

Has anyone gotten any confirmation to this report?

Desperate people, that's for sure. Good thing they haven't gone cannibalistic, yet, else the headline could've read (I know you see this one coming):

That was all over the news yesterday, and the ARRL website.

At some point you just need to return fire and find someone that actually wants the help, or embed with an agency that can guarantee your safety (with more guns). I say that because people in a country so riddled with disasters and everything else that has gone on down there, someone needs to take control.
