Hi sam. thanks for the info just having a quick look lots of pages to go through so will take some time thanks for taking the time. the sites you gave me look good
I do not believe that this specific Kenwood HF radio model sold in North American market.
I purchased a TRC-80 by Kenwood and it has no backup battery.
The battery has been taken out !!!!
Sanyo CR2430-P1-2 Coin Cell Battery with Leads 270 mAh
BTW, check with Mouser, but you may NOT be able to have that Sanyo battery shipped to UK.
Photo of TRC-80 radio
TK-80 (TRC-80) HF SSB Radiotelephone transceiver, SSB/CW/FSK 100W,
AM 25W, 80 ch memory, large LCD display, 13.6 VDC, included Owner's Manual, DC cable, microphone, fuses.
RX: 500 kHz to 30 MHz, TX: 1.8 MHz to 30 MHz, adjustable RF power output, clarifier, VOX,
Data Mode, CW full and semi break-in, optional internal or external antenna tuner,
optional selective call system.
These radios usually used Lithium Coin Cells WITH Solder Tabs (that varied between models).
Your UK Panasonic or Sanyo distributors or dealers should have the appropriate lithium cell.
In the States (USA), if the specific lithium cell is no longer offered by Kenwood,
we have hundreds of Batteries Plus retail outlets.
They have the equipment in their stores to "spot weld" appropriate solder tabs to the cell.
Panasonic lithium coin cells
BTW, the Kenwood Appliance division also makes a TRC-80 Coffee Maker ...
now that is an interesting combination!
