There really was only one.
Spring, 1968. Burlington High School in Vermont. I was sitting in Honor's English class, from which that day mysteriously missing were the class Valedictorian, class President, and several other "high ranking" members of the senior class.
Over the intercom came an unusual message from the school principal asking that all students report immediately to the school auditorium.
Now, it should be noted that the school auditorium was not designed to hold the entire school student body at the same time.
All this turned out to be a prank, designed and implemented by those same students missing from a certain Honor's English class. I never learned how they got a recording of the principal's voice.
They were all suspended.
Of course, they all graduated.

Religion ... God and Gods ... Superstitutions .... Believing there is life after death ... That is a "I wish it were true" dream. Simply because we don't want to think the end if like that roadkill mutt in the highway. Is that all there is? Yes, that IS all there is. So we invent life after death, no matter how horrendous the death is. We design it to fit our needs of the moment - our earth bodies recreated, no bodies, digging up gold from the streets (to what avail? There's nothing to buy and gold has zero value in Heaven) sitting next to God. What a life. Just sitting for millions of years. That isn't much of a Heaven, is it? Oh, coming back to help others? Well, so far no one has done that.
Yet I am all for religion, for it keeps the gullible afraid and in line. Many of us, though, can stay in line because we respect other people. The Golden Rule, which has nothing at all to do with religion. I don't have to create a God in order for me to treat people nicely.
