Default Wisconsin in state of emergency

Gove Doyle has declared a state of emergency for all 72 Counties due to the blizzard. http://www.lacrossetribune.com/news/...cc4c002e0.html

I've been out to shovel my driveway and sidewalk twice already and you'd never know I was out there. Just my luck I pulled a muscle in my lower back this morning and am in a fair bit of discomfort. Looks like 4WD is going to be a must for the drive to work in the morning.

*Ouch* Painkiller time. [From one "grandpa" to another. ]

Seriously...take it easy, and stay safe, Tom.

They should cut taxes and privatize all snow removal. Then if a state of emergency exists they can say they did all they could and blame President Obama.

It doesn't even seem that bad here in Appleton yet. If I had to guess we've gotten four or five inches of snow so far, I seem to remember worse snow storms in past years.

Now I know it's not over yet so I'm sure it will get worse once the winds really start blowing the snow around.

Is there anything on HF? Traffic, tactical or H&W nets. Oh and what about local VHF UHF, anything I could hear on echolink?

That's how it is in Wyoming. They say it only snows once a year and then just blows back and forth the rest of the year.

Some of our biggest blizzards are ground blizzards that last for days after any snowfall as the wind picks it up and throws it around. Snow removal is a repetitive game.

So far it seems to be ranging somewhere between 4" to 9" but it is still coming down and the radar is showing at least a few more hours of it. Just waiting for the ibuprofen to kick in so I can go out and dig out. The city plow won't come by and bury the end of my driveway until I've dug it out at least once.
