I use Opera sometimes, and yes, I think it is a bit faster than Firefox but there's not much in it. I still prefer FF though but I will resort to Opera if I think there is a problem with a sites rendering and I'll try Opera and it usually opens the site properly when FF won't.

ubuntu 10.01 can speed up your webpage if you have a slow connection, pretty cool for using weak wifi signals or dialup..

Are you using FF under Linux? I am. FF under WinXP renders some pages "correctly" that FF for Linux won't.
There are two pages I have to use Opera to view correctly: www.w8ji.com and the Web interface to my D-Link DI-808HV router..
In FF for Linux, the text menu at the top of w8ji.com is all on one line and I have to scroll to the right to see it all. Looking at the html source, it's easy to see why: the menu items are all separated with non-breaking spaces, and so FF for Linux is really displaying the page correctly.
If there's a setting to tell FF to override that, I'm not aware of it.

Yes, mine is doing the same. The whole of that line hasn't been written correctly so as you rightly say FF in Linux is displaying the page as it should. Opera in Linux is displaying the page so it reads correctly. This looks like a typical example of writing a page and not getting it validated, there are a lot of other errors, I'm surprised the page works at all
I don't think there is any setting in FF to get around the problem, unless it's in the config editor somewhere.
