How can I transmit in Cocoamodem/MacLogger?
I have an IC706MKII with the proper cables connected through SignaLink to my computer. I have MacLogger and Cocoamodem installed. Now what do I do? I don't see any indication that Cocoamodem is doing anything. MacLogger responds to frequency changes and autotunes from the DX spots. How can I transmit through Cocoamodem? I need to see some indication of the different modes on Cocoamodem's display. I need some way to answer signals I receive. I have my Mac connected through a USBserial cable and also through SignaLink.
Keep CW alive.

If you haven't found it yet, I suggest that you check out the MacLoggerDX mailing list on Yahoo groups.

Thanks. I have been there and a lot of other places. Guess I just don't know how to ask the right question. I need to get some ham to come to my shack, I guess.

re: MLDX/CocoaModem
I haven't used CocoaModem much, but I do use MLDX as my logging software.
I gather from your initial email that you are not seeing signals at all in CocoaModem. Are you using a SignalLink or a SignalLink USB?? I think the problem is that you don't have CocoaModem set to look at the SignalLink as the sound device. Go to the Config option (Window/Config on the menu bar) and make sure your input is selected as USB sound (or something like that...whatever sound device the SignalLink is called in OS X). That will point cocoaModem towards the SignalLink. If it says "Built-in Input" then it is looking at your mac's sound card for the signals. That should get you up and running for starters.
There are ways to get cocoaModem to talk to MLDX, exchange calls and QSO data between the two, use MLDX to key the transmitter and more, but since I don't use cocoaModem, I don't know how to set that up. However, just within the past few days there has been several posts about where to go to setup the scripts to make this happen.
Remember, cocoaModem and MLDX are from two separate developers. It sounds to me like MLDX is working great for you, but you're having problems with cocoaModem. Even though they are separate developers, the MLDX list on Yahoo is definitely the place to go to make these two work together. There are similar questions posted every couple of weeks and the guys there know how to make it all work very smoothly. I can't recommend strongly enough the benefits of belonging to this group.

Can't Transmit w/Cocoamodem
Thanks, you are probably right about the connection. I have a choice of Built in Microphone, Built in Input or USB CODEC. I selected the USB and did see letters and numbers in a window for Wideband RTTY. I was excited about this but I turned off the radio and still saw the signals, so must just be generic display.
I will watch the MLDX Yahoo group and find out what I can.
