ReMixing Music
I found a song I liked the other day, and listenned to it several times. It was a snappy, Techno music song I had never heard before. The kind of song you would dance to in a Disco club or in some place like the ROXIE looking to pick up girls. I am way past that, but still like to listen.
Here is the original song.

Called "SATELLITE" by Oceanlab.
Then, while looking around YouTube, I found better versions of it. It seems talented artists take a song, strip the music from it, and make a better version.
here is an even better rendition.

And one even better, this one blows me away!

They worked hard on this version, excellent!!! And changed around the words too.

The miracles of Electronics these days!
Lots of other remixes of this great song. Each make it better than the orignal artist ever dreamed of. So that is where music is headed. Take a song and redo it to make it better.

A good place to hear new songs and some remixes is a weekly show that Armin van Buuren puts on called A State of Trance. The shows are almost always 2 hours long, perfect to toss on the mp3 player and listen to at work. Even Armin's own songs are pretty amazing, some of them are remixes of songs from other genres. He's been DJ of the year for the last three years.

That's why I often buy what are called "Maxi-Singles" or "Maxi-CDs" of dance tunes (1990s and later) because you get the different mixes...some of them are better than the original radio edits.
Here's one of my faves: Pharao's Temple of Love. I like the original radio edit best, but these two remixes are pretty good:

(The video is "Eh" but the remix is good.)

DJ Bobo's Vampires are Alive is a GREAT Maxi-CD!

I've never like Nirvana, always thought they were over hyped and quite frankly not that great, but this remix is pretty good of one of their songs.

I take it you know about the many programs/sites that will capture U-Tube music and provide it as an MP3 that you can store.

A very nice program that I have been using for many years to mix music is Sony Acid, the current version is 7. It is an awesome program and I have created an awful lot of music with it throughout the years.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

According to my nephew, who seems to be deep in knowledge and liking in this genre, insists that this guy is the numero uno in this tecno trance spin 'em along type of stuff. I myself listen to the Beatles,Rolling Stones,The Who etc. so I guess I'm not too into this stuff
Oh well, let people listen to what they want
