 Myth busters
AARP magazine this month has an article about myths relating to health.
One was "most of your body heat escapes from your head." Turns out that was based on a flawed study by the Army 50 years ago that did, indeed, confirm most heat does escape from a person's head, if that's the only part of his body exposed to the air. The test subjects were completely covered, except for their heads. Turns out heat actually escapes equally from any part of your body that's not covered.
There are several others in the magazine.
Anybody have any good ones?
