  1. Default ARVN Releases Dayton Hamvention DVD Video Set

ARVN:Amateur Radio//Video News has released a three-DVD set of video from the 2009 Dayton Hamvention.

Details, previews and some free video are all on the ARVN web site: www.ARVideoNews.com. My partner Jeff AC4ZO and I had some fun making the preview.

    Here's a quick review:
    • DVD 1 has the "Unauthorized" Tour - Jeff and I poke our noses into everything we can find that looks interesting, and put it on video. It also has the FCC Forums from both 2008 (Riley's last forum before retiring from the FCC) and 2009 (meet Laura Smith, the new S.C.A.R.E), and the ARRL Forum.
    • DVD 2 has the TAPR and SDR (Software Defined Radio) Forums. At the SDR Forum, proponents of three different styles of SDR - Flex Systems, Elecraft, HPSDR - describe the advantages of each method. CQ Magazine announces a new Extreme contest category to take advantage of advanced methods. And we learn that we may be on 10 GHz sooner than we thought - doing HDTV!
    • DVD 3 has the D-STAR Friday Forum and Friday Night Event. Updates from many of the leaders in this new technology.

The DVDs are $15/ea, plus $3 shipping (US). Much of the content is good for use as club meeting programs, especially the Tour.

Yipes! Pay for ham radio video? Well, this is not the shaky, noisy stuff from a camcorder that someone holds while walking down the aisle. Watch the previews and see if you think it's worth it!

Wonderful! I just bought 3 DVDs... I've never seen a more thorough, professional, documentation of the Dayton experience. With multi-camera coverage, too! Thanks for your good work, this is a great way to remember the event!

    Default DVDs shipped ultra-fast!

UPDATE: Wow, I received my Dayton Collection DVDs on FRIDAY... just two days after placing the order! These are outstanding subjects. I am very pleased with the content, the high production value, and quality. I will be watching these over and over. You guys did an exemplary job.

Jeff, AC4ZO, is hilarious conducting the unauthorized tour! ROFL! Thanks, again.

  4. Default Thanks, Tim!

    Thank you, Tim.

I think Tim likes us (especially Jeff) because we actually show some Morse code keys and talk a little CW!

2-day delivery is courtesy of the Post Office. We mail the DVDs plain old "First Class," either the day we get the order, or the next day. Mailing is from North Carolina, so how fast you get it depends on how fast the pony will run.
