What's more likely?
The Cubs win the World Series, or the Pirates have a winning season?

Hams and MLB
All I have to say is....GO PHILLIES!!!!

I think its a great idea - read through some of the responses and it seems that copyright issues and working with MLB might have challenges. I also like listening to the game broadcasts on radio, I wonder if as an alternative it might be easier to see to work with the radio broadcast announcers and have the stations represent those people instead. Perhaps the same issues apply - but maybe not and a good tie to our hobby.

Using an HT in a ballpark

A group of us were run from a diner one time and told we could return only without our radios.
However, forgiveness is more often easier to get than is permission. I'd take my radio.

I used to use my handheld at the Angels' games. No problem AND I had a very nice line of sight with the repeaters.
Do it!

MLB special events
I like baseball and ham radio but I doubt that this suggestion would ever happen. Too many issues for the lawyers, liabilities, antenna considerations, interferance issues with all of the rf equipment/PA systems, etc. Special events are fun but this one won't work. 73, W5SQA

I had a similar thought a couple of years ago........an event with operators near as many fire towers as possible. Some of these would be in VERY interesting and challenging locations. (I live near one.) My inquiries to the parks service and other agencies asking for a source of a maps showing locations got me little response....I think that the request may have seemed strange enough to put me into the "possible terrorist" category....

Minor Leagues Are Much More Fun

I would be more that willing to activate the Erie Seawolves. I could use one of the flag poles in center field of Jerry Uht Park. Or how about one of the stadium light poles in right field?
If we could get the MLB to go along, you could get a QSL card from each park and get the coveted WAB (Worked All Ballparks) certificate.
