Very creepy story.. blood resurfaces after murder (17 years ago).
I'm in the process of packing up my house. We noticed where my ex-roommate's bed and dresser used to be there are 8 red spots. I asked him about them and he couldn't explain how they got there. We scrubbed and scrubbed them, but couldn't get them to come up. He hypothesized perhaps it was blood from a murder that happened in this house 17 years ago. We never really knew any of the details about the murder other than the guy who was killed was the head of the a biker gang.
So my ex-roommate (god, I love saying ex-roommate) did some research on the OrlandoSentinel.com and he found a snippet of an article about it. The article referenced the victim's attorney, who also happens to be my attorney! I called my lawyer up to ask him the if he could remember which room it happened in and he said the master bedroom near the bathroom -- exactly where my roommate had his bed and dresser.
Creepy stuff.
My ex-roommate -- "Some info: apparently, when there is a lot of blood on the floor/carpet, it actually soaks into the concrete. So, if they didn't paint over the concrete to seal it and/or chisel some of it out and replace it, it could soak back into the carpet (especially with the moisture from the bathroom). I hope they don't try to charge from the deposit for something that happened there 17 years ago."
I suggested we tell the landlords.. "It's not our bloody fault". *ahem*
