    Default No more guns?

This is what can happen if we lose our guns. It's a little long, but worth watching. I hope Greg didn't beat me to this.

While I don't feel it will ever happen, it's worth keeping a careful eye on political candidates. What turns my stomach is when some people whine about how democrats are out to get our guns.
I have subscribed to "Field and Stream" for many years. Everytime there is a presidential election, the magazine with interview the candidates in regards to gun ownership, gun control, and hunting. I haven't seen a candidate yet that wanted to ban ALL guns, and I have never seen a candidate want to ban hunting firearms.
Some candidates want "common sense" gun control such as banning "assault weapons", banning large magazines, and even handguns.
There will always be arguments over this. One persons definition of an "assault" weapon is different from anothers.
Where I draw the line in my mind is fully auto weapons. If you want to fire one of those, join the Military. But I do realize that in this country, we have plenty of nutjobs in our mist that are not intelligent enough or unselfish enough to understand why it would be a bad idea for the general population to own such a rifle.
With the exception of a fully auto weapon, I'm not in favor of blanketly banning certain guns. The reality of the situation is that if all guns were banned, it wouldn't be enforceable. There are waaay too many guns in this country. Guns are a part of American History. Guns are a part of our Culture.
You just can't erase our culture, neither would Americans allow an attempt.

    Very eye opening video.

Those who say it "could not happen here" best start to wake up.

Fully automatic firearms have been ILLEGAL in this country without a special license SINCE 1934!!!!!!!!

NO MORE laws are needed to "control" any type of firearm. In fact there are far too many laws on the books now.

What IS needed is to enforce existing laws, AND punish anyone who uses a firearm in any type of crime.

"When guns are outlawed, ONLY outlaws will have guns" is a true statement that the British are now finally waking up to.

In the Communist Manifesto it also outlines steps in taking over a nations people. One of them is banning all firearms, starting small, then eventually ALL.
So beware, when the USA implements the same policies, in the name of It's good for the country etc that BS, then another step will be completed to make the citizens prisoners of the very system they think is for 'their good', like we aren't already "Economic Prisoners" now.
Every citizen in the USA that has no criminal record should be able to own and carry any weapon they desire or can afford.
Unfortunantly many governments reach a point where they become so paranoid with outside threats of terrorism and public outrage they institute 'overkill' policies, no matter what it is,travel limitations, 'ironclad identification rules, video monitoring, gun control, and other means to insure public compliance.
Owning firearms by all citizens becomes a 'perceived threat' to any government, since that's one way THEY control the masses, they don't want any 'grass root armies' around that may challenge their power.

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms..." This right was recently affirmed to be an individual right by the US Supreme Court, as was believed by most Constitutional scholars and historians of the early writings of the Founders.

It is interesting to note that there is no mention of swords, pistols, long guns, firearms, and so on. Just "arms". The intent was that a force of the people would be equal to anything the government could field in terms of weaponry and superior to government forces by dint of numbers. Over the years, our [fearful] leaders have passed law after law forbidding various weapons to the general public, effectively ensuring that, should conflict arise, it can be quickly and effectively dealt with -- leaving the present power structure intact.

Today, any citizen army doesn't stand a chance against the force which can be brought to bear by the United States. We have weapon systems which can find a lone man running, in the dark, thirty miles away, and then drop a cannon round, a rocket, or a gravity bomb right onto his head. Groups, of course, are that much easier to spot.

I'm sorry to say that there is no way that there could be another revolution like that which birthed this country -- unless the established military were also involved on the side of the rebels. The technology gap is simply too wide.

Unfortunately this is not true. In both the United Kingdom and Australia politicians are openly indicating they do not understand why despite the gun confiscations and bans, crime is on the increase. In the United Kingdom jurists are punishing those home owners who stand and fight and tell them from the bench that they should flee rather than defend themselves and their property. What utter nonsense!
And remember the U.S. Supreme court has already ruled that police have no formal duty to protect you. It's a rather technical ruling but it is a ruling none the less. Remember the police are only minutes away when you call....most of the time. Unless of course as I have experienced..."We're sorry all 911 operators are busy. Stay on the line and the next available emergency operator will take your call."
