Default Low band antenna for school

    Hey!
I am beginning to look at building another antenna for the RIT amateur radio club K2GXT. We put together an 80m OCF dipole last year which works great, although due to close proximity to the building, 80m doesn't work well without tuning. I'd like to run the lower bands such as 80m and 160m for our next antenna, which could be over the building or possibly end fed and stretched into the surrounding woods. I'd like to hear some suggestions on both antenna as well as best placement! Feel free to visit www.rit.edu/k2gxt

    Thanks,

    Brent,

What's the tuning issue? Match not good on the segment you want?

well, the antenna is reletively close to the HVAC units on the roof as it hangs from tower to tower. It resonates closer to 4 MHz. The OCF is fine on all its other bands though! We may have the option to run into the woods behind the building which we should consider.

I was thinking along the lines of an end fed or such antenna if we go this route to run into the woods. I would like to hear any suggestions, nearly any antenna is a possibility, we could to inverted-V's, L's...

I'd like to hear anyone elses experiance running antennas made for 160/80 and especially if they involve structures close by, or into the woods along the trees...

    Thanks!
