Default New York 10 Meter Repeater

10:45 PM and the 10 meter repeater in New York is doing great,

    29.620 Negative with a PL of 146.2
The universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space.

Heard it around midnight about a month ago. My antenna was a ground-mounted 1/4 wave. I could even key it up with 100W. Not bad for FM and 1200 miles away, although the repeater is up in the mountains in upstate NY and has quite a height advantage.

I have heard these on my Ratshack 10 meter rig and it drives me nuts not to be able to use it to try to hit the repeater.

Default KQ2H repeater system, in and around NYC, NY

I hear it pretty consistently here in NW Missouri, every day, usually in the mornings and evenings.

I did a google on it, and it does have a website. The 10 meter machine is part of a linked network on 2 and 70cm into the Big Apple, and the 10 meter transmitter runs about 1200 watts output, so I guess it makes its own Sporadic-E clouds.
