I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Field Day. Saw an ad in the paper, went and checked it out, an now I'm here having the time of my life.

Don't know about most, but I have a blast at Field Day. It's what you make it. Don't like it don't do it. Just that simple.

And it's only a contest for the die-hard contesters. The rest of us do it for fun and practice. And yes, everything "we" do at Field Day can be applied in one form or another during an actual emergency.

Field day is no longer what it used to be. It is simply another contest. Its like Memorial Day. Ask kids what the true meaning of Memorial Day is all about and you'll get answers like:

1) Thats when the pool opens up
2) Hot dogs and hamburgers
3) Barbecue

Etc.

Yup, field day = contest.
